About Fallen Tree Records

Founder
Peter Chapman

Fallen Tree Records is a record label sprouting folk, roots and alternative music, rooted in Edmonton, Canada. Founded in October 2018, the young label is thankful for the fast support of radio programmers, retail stores and a quality distribution network around the world.

We acknowledge that we are based in ᐊᒥᐢᑿᒌᐚᐢᑲᐦᐃᑲᐣ (Amiskwacîwâskahikan) on land in Treaty Six Territory. This land is and has been home to diverse Indigenous peoples including the nêhiyaw (Cree), Dené, Anishinaabe (Saulteaux), Nakota Isga (Nakota Sioux), and Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) peoples for centuries. We also acknowledge the Métis and Inuit whose home this land encompasses.

Peter Chapman founded Fallen Tree Records after hearing music he felt should have a broader audience. He’s worked in the music industry for over fifteen years, most of that time at the renowned Stony Plain Records (Corb Lund, Ronnie Earl, Sue Foley). Until the pandemic he was regularly heard on campus station CJSR, and he’s sat on juries for CFMAs, JUNOs and Breakout West. When not listening to music, he’s probably out running the trails of Edmonton.

Our prices are set to ensure our artists are compensated for their work fairly, and with no intent to undercut or over charge either record stores (who we love) or the artists themselves.

We do however reserve the right to change prices at any time, and do not offer any price holdovers or price matching.

You will find most of the items available on this website also available from our Bandcamp storefront. We endeavour to keep prices the same between platforms to give you the most choice.

Payment methods

We accept all major credit cards and some additional debit and direct banking services through our partner merchant services provided by Stripe and PayPal. We do not collect any card or banking information directly, so your data is always safe. More details can be found in our Privacy Policy.
