Fallen Tree Records is a record label sprouting folk, roots and alternative music, rooted in Edmonton, Canada. Founded in October 2018, the young label is thankful for the fast support of radio programmers, retail stores and a quality distribution network around the world.
Taking founder Peter Chapman’s twelve years of experience in roots/blues working for the label Stony Plain Records, Fallen Tree’s roster is growing to include Canadian artists who sing about home, belonging, war, love and loss. Toronto-based folk lyricist Jon Brooks sings about the big stuff, earning him four Canadian Folk Music Award nominations. 100 mile house, a transatlantic folk husband/wife duo from Edmonton, craft songs about belonging. Logan and Nathan bring alt-folk sounds to life, through wilderness experiences. Jessica Heine shares her regrowth through her powerful and touching songs. Silent Winters are bringing folk harmonies to the fireside this Christmas.
We acknowledge that we are based in ᐊᒥᐢᑿᒌᐚᐢᑲᐦᐃᑲᐣ (Amiskwacîwâskahikan) on land in Treaty Six Territory. This land is and has been home to diverse Indigenous peoples including the nêhiyaw (Cree), Dené, Anishinaabe (Saulteaux), Nakota Isga (Nakota Sioux), and Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) peoples for centuries. We also acknowledge the Métis and Inuit whose home this land encompasses.
We’re members of CIMA, Alberta Music, CARAS, Folk Alliance International, Americana Music Association, and are proudly Edmonton Made. For 100 mile house and T. Buckley’s projects we are also FACTOR funded.
